Mold Remediation
Why remediate or provide a remedy to mold? From large-scale epidemiological studies conducted in North America and Europe, it is known that living in damp, moldy, housing results in increased risk of deleterious (“harmful, deadly”) respiratory and some non-respiratory health effects. Stachybotrys Chartarum is directly linked to death of humans. Aspergillus and Penicillium in combination are known to be more harmful to human health than Stachybotrys Chartarum.
Toxic fungi produce metabolites known as mycotoxins, which may a variety of toxic effects when inhaled, ingested, or when they come into contact with skin. However, all fungi, regardless of toxic producing capabilities, can cause allergic respiratory disease in sensitive individuals. It has been reported that 10 to 20 percent of the general population is allergic to various fungi. The types of disease that can be caused by fungi in sensitive humans include humidifier fever, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, asthma, and allergic rhinitis.
Fungi need not be alive to be antigenic (allergy causing) and toxins produced by fungi can remain long after the fungus organism is dead.
Some fungi are able to invade living cells. Among the types of illness attributed to fungi is Aspergillosis, an evasive lung disease. Another well-known invasive fungal disease is caused by Fusarian species. Fungi emit MVOCs (Microbial Volatile Organic Compounds). More than 500 MVOCs are identified from different Fungi, which are responsible for their odor. Most people smell mold before they see it.
Air Conditioning & Mold Control Solutions (ACMCS) performs mold remediation by first identifying (mold inspection) the contaminated area or areas of your home or workplace. Contaminated area (s) must be isolated from the rest of the building/residence Isolation or “containment” means the work area is sealed off from other occupied or less contaminated areas by blocking off all openings, fixtures, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system components in the contaminated area (s) so that mold spores and other particulates cannot be carried into clean areas. And – If any of the HVAC Components are suspected of contamination, the HVAC system cleaning and sanitizing is included in the remediation process.
Before the remedial operation begins, a negative air pressure differential is established inside the containment. An air filtration device with true High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters.
Once the contaminated area is contained, negative air and HEPA filters in place, and the workers are clothed with the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), the remediation procedure is conducted in a systematic manner, starting at the location identified containing mold or the location of water intrusion and working away from the source in all directions until no visible surface fungus growth is observed. Extensive destruction remediation, such as removal of drywall, cabinets, wood members and other structures may be required.
Fungus growth must be remediated from all surfaces and the air must be filtered to an extent that that mold spores are reduce to acceptable levels and concentrations. Remediation procedures may vary somewhat based each situation and on the chemicals used, or method used in the use of those chemicals. ACMCS is a certified applicator of the Anabec System of products, which provides a variety of methods to remove mold and bacteria with less damage to property than with other methods.
How does the Client know if the end result is acceptable and the contaminated area is restored to an acceptable condition? Before the containment or air barrier is removed, an inspection that includes air sampling is performed and analyzed under 3rd party laboratory controls to make sure the area (s) are now compliant with current indoor air quality standards. If the lab tests are not satisfactory, remediation continues and retested again. This process will continue until the laboratory results are satisfactory in the contained area (s).
3rd party Quality Control Inspection
Currently, water restoration companies, demolition companies, and some mold remediators do not exercise the precautionary measures and stringent protocols as executed by ACMCS. When proceeding without proper protocol, the air quality of once cleaned areas may now be contaminated and not tested because they were outside of the containment barrier.
ASMCS adheres to strict compliance standards and protocol, and “post” treatment sampling and 3rd party Laboratory analysis is included in our proposals to ensure effectiveness. Additional “Post” evaluation testing may be conducted by an independent 3rd party consultant if the Owner/Client desires and is willing to hire them independently of ACMCS.

What is Mold Remediation?
“Remediation” means to remove. Mold remediation means to remove formed mold colonies and reduce air-borne mold spore concentrations from the indoors environment. Removal may take on different methods such as cutting out the contaminated product and removing it from the building and/or chemically treating the area(s) of mold contamination and “scrubbing” (filtering) the air to capture and remove mold spores. During any of these activities, the contaminated area(s) should be contained from all other areas in a building to prevent cross-contamination and the spread of mold and bacteria to non-contaminated areas.

What is Mold Prevention?
Mold growth prevention is a scientific procedure using a chemical cleaner to de-nature the bio-film and remove organic matter or nutrient sources on surfaces such as wood framing, drywall, concrete, etc., and seal the surface so mold and bacteria cannot use the surface for a food source.
|
The stronger strains of mold and bacteria attach themselves to surfaces within colonies called bio-films. Bio-films are essentially places where organisms can hide. A bio-film community can include bacteria, fungi, yeasts, protozoa and other microorganisms. When an organism is within the bio-film it is protected and are extremely difficult to eradicate. |
|
|
|
Anabec Inc.’s Cleaning Solution successfully eradicates the bio-film. The Bio-film is the lifeline for mold and bacteria. Anabec disintegrates the bio-film and agglomerates the mold and bacteria, denaturing their protein cellular structure. No longer protected, mold and bacteria can be defeated. |
|
|
|
The final step is to apply one of Anabec’s two shields, Anashield or X-70 or for mold prevention, NB-30. We use this simple analogy …"Like Washing and Waxing your car". Our patented Cleaner removes the bio-film and leaves a hygienic surface. Now, apply one of the shields, Anabec’s Anashield or Anabec’s X-70 or NB-30. These products provide long-term protection against mold and bacteria growth on the treated surface. Certified Anabec applicators have warranties on all Anabec systems. And only Certified Anabec Applicators can provide the correct warranty. |
Air Conditioning & Mold Control Solutions (ASMCS) is so confident about its services, it offers a Builders Program with a manufacturer’s limited 30-year written warranty on all treated surfaces and a Mold Remediation Program with a 2-year to 20-year written warranty. All warranties are transferable to new buyers/owners.

Do all buildings have mold?
Yes – Every residential and commercial building has mold spores present. It is normal and natural for the Fungi and Animal Kingdoms to exist together. Mold spores enter buildings in a number of ways – each time a door or window is opened, carried on shoes and clothing and on the building construction products when the building was first constructed. ACMCS cannot stop what was created to live with us, but we can now protect the inside environment of a building and limit the negative effects of accelerated mold growth! Use ACMCS and its innovative scientific processes. There is no longer any reason to risk financial burden or damage to your health from mold.
