HIGH EFFICIENCY GREEN – Going Green is the newest phrase for greater efficiency and reduced energy consumption.
Changes in the law issued by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) states that from June of 2006 forward, the minimum efficiency unit shall be 13 SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating) with matched air handler to condenser.  This means, if you have a 10 SEER air handler and the condensing unit must be replaced, both units must be replaced so they match the 13 SEER rating. To mismatch the units is against Federal law.

OUTDOOR AIR QUALITY GREEN
All of the Goodman and Amana units labeled with the Energy Star label use the new environmental friendly R410A refrigerant. Some clients are familiar with the recognized name Puron® for R410A. In 2010, R410A is the only residential A/C refrigerant allowed; unless the Law changes again. The refrigerant now in use is R22 and is known to destroy the Ozone layer that protects us from the Sun’s radiation.
